Explore the cooking, diet, and lifestyle of Ikaria, Greece. Identified as one of five “Blue Zones” in the world, where people live the longest and are the healthiest. Join George and Eleni Karimalis from the Greek island of Ikaria, where they run a sustainable and organic farm, winery, and cooking school. Together, they will teach a selection of Mediterranean dishes that support vitality, wellness, and longevity. The class will include hands-on cooking, a demonstration, and a short lecture. At the end of class, the group will enjoy a meal representing the plant-based diet of Ikaria.
This workshop is approximately 50% hands-on and 50% demonstration. Recipes include Yellow Split Pea Spread, Dolmades, and Greek Honey Sesame Bars. Demonstration ingredients will be primarily organic plants, legumes, vegetables, fruit, and olive oil. Wine will be served in class. You may want a snack before class as food will be served later in the evening.
There are two opportunities to participate in this special and unique class. Space is limited to 12 students per class – register soon to avoid disappointment.
